Cardozo offers its students exceptional clinical work and externship opportunities.

Downers

The school could be renovated and modernized to appear nicer and be more comfortable .

Comments

Take classes where you can actually see yourself practicing in that practice area as opposed to a bunch of different classes that do not relate to one another.

“Excellent Law School”

Professors were world class. They are also practitioners and understand that there is more to law than the classwork. I strongly recommend the school for a well rounded education and the opportunities that being at a law school in New York provides.

Downers

Lots of competition from students trying to get into firms. Competitive schools include Fordham, Brooklyn and others.

Comments

Consider what you want to get out of your education. It is an important and life altering decision.

“Good n Bad”

A small number of professors were fantastic and made learning the law interesting and enjoyable.

Downers

There weer only a small number of good professors. Many were duds.

Comments

Overall it was a decent school. They need to work harder on career help and in attracting top tier professors.

“Great law school if you are entrepreneurial”
January 2018FORMER STUDENT
Uppers

I enjoyed the vibrant academic discussions and opportunities for internships in NYC.

Downers

Limited biglaw opportunities unless you are in top 10 - 15%, but there are other opportunities if you seek them out.

Comments

Speak to alums, current students, and pay close attention to employment statistics.

Faculty is excellent with a diverse choice of classes. Great location for school.

Downers

Building itself is kind of eh. Not well known outside of NYC area.

Comments

Great education though I think it is best for someone looking to stay in the area.

“Solid experience”

There is a large variety of classes and instructors as well as extra-curricular activities. School is also generous with financial aid.

Downers

It's strength is still not backed up by the cache that it deserves.

Comments

It's definitely worth considering and has something for everyone looking for a legal career.

“LLM Program in IP”
March 2016FORMER STUDENT
Uppers

Great faculty, increasing name recognition for Fashion/Arts/Media/Entertainment practices in New York City and beyond.

Downers

Career placement services were lackluster, and didn't offer much assistance for LLM students. Less of a community feel due to lack of student housing options.

Comments

This program provides a great opportunity for students to learn more about intellectual property and make connections in sought after practice fields. Just don't pay sticker price for it.

The professors are all Harvard-caliber. Cardozo has a strong group of young, bright, professors that truly take an interest in the students and enhance the school's culture.

Downers

Many professors are old and out of touch. While they have impressive resumes, they lack any ability to teach.

Comments

It's a good school with a fun and comfortable environment. If you are a go-getter and are ready to put yourself out there and make connections, Cardozo will be a good fit. If you are not, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Good opportunities for scholarships

Students are generally pretty nice

Location is great

Downers

May students (essentially part-time) are at an extreme advantage but are on the same curve as full-time students

The school will give extra time on exams to just about anyone who asks- many students get time and a half for a "learning disability" then end up in the top 10%

Comments

Network and get to know your professors early. You will have to put in work if you want to get a good job.

“Great School”

Faculty, classmates, clinical opportunities, location, externernship opportunities, the building, events

Downers

Like any law school, it's competitive. Only about the top 10% get into biglaw, but most people seem to land on their feet.

Comments

Hustle hard your first year, read every case, brief every case. By years 2-3 you can start relaxing.
