The professors were very personable and willing to meet with you whenever you asked. Examples include phone calls on car rides home, meetings on weekends on campus, and off site visits in corporate settings. A lot of the electives were extremely helpful and had strong real life connections to local companies and projects.Admissions
I reached out to a student ambassador and was able to arrange a personal campus tour, class visit, and chat. During my visit I was able to connect with current students talk to a professor and meet face to face with admission staff. I was reinvited to an Open House session where I got an indepth presentation on career services, financial aid, and talked with a number of current and past students. After being interviewed, I was hosted by two student ambassadors to lunch with another prospective student where we talked in depth about student experiences. Over the summer I attended Admit Weekend, and a number of pre-social class events. I had a number of chances to connect with my class and the 2nd years before my first day of class.Level
The professors are extremely interested in the quality of education. They all care about the learning process and about our professional development. They even help students network and find job leads. Even the "notable" professors are very accessible and open to student interaction. Any professor who is not "up to par" stands out and the administration takes pretty quick action to ensure that all instruction is superior. The school goes out of the way to bring in different styles of instruction with a lot of practical experience in the classroom. There are lots of opportunities to work with local companies. Case studies, group work, student presentations, class discussions are all par for the course. What makes Merage different from other schools, though, is the small class size (never larger than 50) and the collaboration from students. Professors do not encourage over competitiveness and place more emphasis on how well the class can learn as opposed to how well the individual can learn.Quality of Life
How can you complain about going to school in Irvine. It is perfect. Great weather, great community, quality of life is terrific. It is super safe, clean, vibrant. The quality of life at UCI is one of its strengths as a university because it is so enjoyable to be here.Admissions
The admissions team is probably the best in the business. They are so active, so organized and so personal that it made it easy to commit to UCI. They go out of their way to make each applicant feel like they are special. And then they go out of their way to make each admitted student feel like they are part of the family. And once you commit to Merage, you immediately feel welcome and at home. The admissions department does not have an enviable job but each year they seem to craft a terrific group of 100 young professionals that raise the bar each year. The caliber of students is top notch and the cohesiveness of the class is a testament to the thought and effort the admissions team puts into hand selecting our very small class.Level
Quality of professors can definitely go up. Few good profs hold the reputation high for the rest of the school!Admissions
Extremely personal one on one interaction to give a true Selective school feelingLevel

The admissions process is typical of all business schools: application essays, GMAT, letters of recommendation, interview, fellowship opportunities. In addition, there is a student ambassador portion where prospective students can reach out to a group of 11 student ambassadors for class visits, specific questions, phone conversations, etc.Level
