“Stellar Undergraduate Program”
March 2019FORMER STUDENT
Uppers

Undergraduate students attend the same classes and partake in the same discussions as graduate students.

Downers

The reputation outside the institution is stellar, however course 15 is sometimes considered less prestigious than some of the science and engineering courses.

Comments

If you are going to attend MIT, make sure to take advantage of the seemingly endless UROP opportunities.

“MIT Sloan School of Management is a good choice”

The freedom to select courses. When you are admitted to MIT, you will have the freedom to choose whenever you want to study. There is totally no limited for choosing courses. And also, the number of the courses you choose have no related with the tuition fee. One of my friends majored in Master of Finance, chose many courses from the department of computer science and math, then he got an offer from Citadel and being an analyst in the hedge fund.

Downers

Well, the cafeteria in Sloan is really not good. Actually, there is little delicious food around MIT.

Comments

I think MIT Sloan School of Management is really a good choice. You can meet many talented people in Boston, which will be very useful for your career.

Lecturers, lectures, activities, sports. Even if it is a technical university the career service has been really useful

Downers

Maybe the only thing that I did not like was that always was perfect!

“MIT”

Uppers

open-minded atmosphere

innovation

opportunities to make friends and work with many geniuses

the brand is powerful

Downers

teaching quality. some professors are good, but some are not. MIT lacks a system to force faculty to improve teaching quality. the subject evaluation system is powerless in achieving this.

Comments

Sloanies sometimes also get rejected by McKensey. Many students came to Sloan because of McKensey but the truth is it's not guaranteed you would get offers.
