Great environment filled with a diverse crowd of people all trying to learn together. Not competitive like other schools.
DownersMore job opportunity overall, but less with big law firms
CommentsIf you are prepared to experience good classes and good teachers you’re good go go.

Great Opportunities if you Seek them out - many are not apt to but it is worthwhile to do so
Downersif you want big law have to get top grades
Commentslook for opportunitie to connect with professors and get experience (research assistant, BLIP)

Great teachers who really cared about students, amazing internship and externship opportunities
DownersMiddle of the pack in NYC legal market, school officials focus on the top students
CommentsI have no regrets going there but make sure you are going for the right reason. If you plan to stay in NYC then it is a strong choice with a loyal group of alumni. If you are planning to leave it may not be the best option.

professors and being in Brooklyn are great assets to the school
Downersthe cost and stress like most law schools take its toll
Commentstake it seriously - school is hard and if you want to do well you have to put in the work

The location, classmates, professors are all great. Probably the best thing going for this school.
DownersI’ve been to the career center several times and they are no help. You are forced to do career searching on your own. Luckily
CommentsYou most likely are considering this school because you got offered money. That is tempting but reazlie you pay for what you get. All my friends at Queens Law, St. John’s and others in NYC get amazing career resource provided via the library and career center. This school makes you pay out of pocket for tools. Go to a school that gives you the same support as the law programs in the region.

Great faculty, and the atmosphere among my fellow evening, part-time students was decidedly not as competitive.
DownersCareer services could use an upgrade, their advice is pretty generic and not custom fitted to BLS students.
CommentsEvery student should calculate their expected monthly student loan payment before accepting their offer at Brooklyn, or any law school for that matter.

Terrific faculty. The job network is also very strong in the New York City area.
DownersIt lacks the resources of a large university, but this is not generally a big deal.
CommentsYou get out of it what you put in, as with any school. Develop relationships with your professors and you will be fine. The school is particularly strong if you have an interest in bankruptcy/restructuring.

Faculty is second to none, and the Study abroad program is unbeatable. Student body is collaborative and hardworking. Alumni base is also second to none.
DownersCareer center. If you work hard its a great school with immense opportunity. But if you want to cost on a name, not for you.
CommentsWork hard. Take the money here. Be another famous Brooklyn Law Alum.

Professors were generally great. They were also helpful with job searching.
DownersIn the New York market, it is tough to get a big law job.
CommentsTry to be at the top of your class. Network as much as possible with alumni.

Above market scholarship offers. Ample employment opportunities for the top 10% of the class.
DownersNot worth it to attend BLS if you are paying full tuition. Also not worth it if you realistically will not have a shot at being in the top of the class. The lower 50% of the class is left to fight over scraps in the legal market. Unless you have significant personal connections, you will not end up at a top law firm unless you are in the top 10%
CommentsI will keep this simple.
1. If you have a full scholarship to BLS --> you should attend.
2. If you have a large scholarship to BLS + you have a realistic prospect of graduating near the top of the class --> you should attend.
3. If you have a small scholarship to BLS + you're not sure if you can achieve higher grades than your peers --> consider a lower ranked school with a scholarship.
4. If you have NO scholarship to BLS (or a de minimus scholarship) --> do not attend because you will likely land a job paying less than $100k and you will have difficulty paying off your student loans (unless you have a personal connection and guaranteed post-law school employment).
