“Small School Atmosphere”
September 2015CURRENT STUDENT

Professors make lots of time for graduate students

scheduling and administration is flexible

students are given time to explore what they truly want to study

Downers

Not quite elite enough or large enough for the reputation to actually help you get a professor position out of graduate school

small size of departments means that if you don't have a strong social circle outside of the department, it can get lonely quickly

Comments

Make sure you take into account high costs of rent in the area

visit departments before accepting a position
