At WPI learning has always been about combining theory and practice. Our multi-dimensional approach to education yields more than just graduates; it helps create innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, and most important, leaders.

Our academic departments offer more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs leading to bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees, as well as an array of professional certificates.

3 Major projects are required to graduate: Humanities and Arts Requirement, and the Interactive and Major Qualifying Projects. HU&A is comprehensive in that students choose a focus area (Visual and Performing Arts, Histories, or Language Studies), complete three courses as well as a Seminar Project to capstone their focal experience, and complete one course in the Breadth Areas outside of their Focus Area. The IQP is often an international experience, and allows students to work outside of their comfort zones and challenge themselves intellectually and critically by solving a societal issue through comprehensive science and technology methods. The MQP is a senior thesis with a twist; fourth year undergrads will complete their WPI studies through addressing a specific challenge within their majors, whether it be a design project, process improvement, or theoretical applications.
