Some truly exceptional programs
DownersCan be hard to find your place if things don't settle immediately during Freshman year.
CommentsCU has some truly exceptional programs but I found as an undeclared student that I couldn't sample business classes which was very frustrating for me. Also, was not allowed to get a Spanish minor.

A fantastic university with a wealth of activities to do on and off campus. The business school provides ample recruiting access to top firms and rigorous course work.
DownersLimited access to firms on the east coast and in the midwest. If you want to work in these areas it will be especially difficult, though not impossible.
CommentsKnow what you want out of your undergraduate experience. If your life goal is to be an investment banker, maybe look elsewhere. If you want to learn how to live life and learn about all aspects of it and still have great opportunities in many fields, come to CU.

The campus location was great. Proximity to optical physics graduate program also a plus.
DownersLack of funding. Poor buildings and infrastructure. Who swamp cools a building that houses laser spectrometers?
CommentsIf you want to do research be proactive. Most professors are amenable to undergraduates working in their lab.
