“Great location and limitless opportunities”

The location is great at the heart of New York City

Downers

Environment is distractive for students who want to study quiet. Too expensive.

New York City is your campus. You will always be able to find something to do and learn.

Downers

Hard to stay focused studying as there are so many distractions around.

Comments

Do not get overwhelmed with the endless options and see them as opportunities.

Amazing learning opportunities - professors are some of the best in the world and are generally very kind. Amenities and benefits are astounding as well - there are so many things to take advantage of in the way of career help/mental health/overall fun/free stuff that it's nearly impossible to list it all.

Downers

The price of attending this university has gotten to be nearly laughable. As much as I loved it here, do not come here if you are paying more than what you'd pay at a state school. The name gives you a leg up on employment opportunities, but not enough to offset the enormous financial burden accrued by your loans.

Comments

Consider your options carefully, as well as what you'd like to study. NYU is truly a great place, but at a great price. Not the most diverse school either - a lot of really unique people, but overall pretty white and VERY rich. Difficult for someone who is not used to that background.

The place has a vibrant culture and it nurtres the talent in you. There are so many things thatr you can take part in at any given time to expand yourself.

Downers

The fees and livining expenses are a bit high. Also, there is no nyu campus as such so you miss out that true college feel.

Comments

Try to apply early and land a scholarship. Also you can try to get in touch with professors to get TA/RA.

I love the practicality that comes along with an environment like NYU

Downers

The lack of a tight campus and school spirit will take away from a college experience

Comments

You will either love it or hate it. It isn't for everyone but for those that can fit in, it will be rewarding

Classmates, professors, location in NYC, internship opportunities, professional connections, and social life.

Downers

Lack of community on campus, lack of sports, expense of living in New York City.

Comments

NYU is a college opportunity unlike any others. Not for the faint of heart, but definitely for those that want to be in the global capital of the world.
