First day of freshmen chemistry, the proffessor says "Look at the student to your left, and now to your right. At the end of the term, they won't be here. That's my job." Classes were tough, but well worth it in the long run.

calculus 1,2,and 3 required for most majors; physics 1 and 2 also. Business, arts, and technology majors required to take a general science. 6 to 12 credits of humanities required of all. Great academic advising, about 15 to 30 in a class, professors have at least 2 hours a week of office hours or can always reach them online. Many study aboard options; workload is high, most free time spent doing homework.
AdmissionsEarly action favored, numerous financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Admission mostly based on high school academics and performance.

Graduation Year2012
I don't remember the specifics but the general requirements included math, science and english as well as some engineering classes. Core classes were extensive so that to complete my major degree I only had to take 3-4 additional classes. Academic advising was excellant. All of my professors were readily accessible and very helpful. There were ample research opportunities in my field of study, the faculaty were well known and respected in their field. The grading was tough 93 and up was an A, 86-92 was a B, etc. There were some study abroad opportunities in the 70's but not like there is today. The workload was manageable.
Quality of LifeIt was great-affordable, lots ot do, safe area overall happiness-very
AdmissionsI don't remember other than filling out an application

Core classes, major degree requirements, academic advising, class sizes, accessibility of professors, competitiveness, grading are some of the best. Workload is pretty intense. General requirements (Writing, Language Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences were a bit weak in the 1980's.
Quality of LifeHousing is inexpensive. Food is a bit more expensive than some other places. Campus, library, dining, neighborhoods, community relations, safety and overall happiness are fantastic. Crime is very low.
AdmissionsI was a transfer student and it was a long time ago -- I graduated in 1984. There used to be scholarship opportunities for valedictorians and salutatorians as well as discounts for children of Alumni.
