Stunning campus, engaging student body, flexibility to do what you love

Downers

Minimal food options around campus, expensive area (downtown) but gorgeous and not an issue for those not on a budget

Comments

We're a super friendly and diverse bunch. Open to all races, genders, sexualities and religion. Great environment :)

Access to incredible faculty

Students from all over the world

Great facilities

Very bright students

Tons to do in Montreal and through the student society

Downers

School is extremely large, which takes a lot getting used to if you're from a small town

Comments

Get involved in as many ways as you can, it's a great way to form circles of friends in what is otherwise an extremely large university.

“Mediocre academics, great student life”

The Campus is the perfect size and located right in the middle of Montreal. There is a great social life and diverse school body, and lots of student clubs

Downers

There is little support from the school and the drinking culture should be toned down

Comments

You will have a wonderful time at McGill and make friends for life. However, to get the most out of your academics at McGill, you must be willing to put in the initiative.

“Great researches and name but not very piratical”

McGill is known to be one of the most prestigious schools in Canada, and in the academia world, especially in terms of medical sciences. If you are in the area of sciences, your chances of going to an ivy grad school is going to be pretty high.

Downers

If you were planning on some intense Grad school say law or med, it could be a GPA downer. And if you were planning on leaving with a bachelor degree, it doesn't have a fancy co-op system like Waterloo which is far more efficient and better prepares you for the "real" world.

Comments

Must be determined, the classes are all very competitive, and figure out your course plan, balance bird/easy courses with hard ones
