Analysts

Analysts play a central role at Cornerstone Research. Within a case team, analysts take on key responsibilities such as financial and economic modeling, examining market and industry behavior, and presenting findings to colleagues and clients. During your tenure as an analyst, you may work on numerous matters across a spectrum of industries.

Working as an analyst prepares you for a range of opportunities, including promotion to associate or further academic training. Half of our analysts who choose to pursue graduate degrees, attend a top-five school; more than 75 percent attend a top-ten school in their respective fields (as ranked by U.S. News and World Report). We have an active alumni network who have gone on to work in business, non-profit organizations, government, or academia.

Cornerstone Research is unique in the level of responsibility and the variety of leadership roles the firm provides. Beyond project work, you may participate in firm development activities and hold key positions in recruiting, training, mentoring, as well as community involvement and “green” initiatives.

Summer Analysts

For students who have not yet graduated from college, our summer analyst position mirrors the full-time analyst role and offers opportunities to learn about Cornerstone Research firsthand. Many summer analysts join Cornerstone Research full time upon graduation.

Associates

Associates are at the core of our high-performing project and practice development teams. As an associate you will apply academic training and experience to address the challenging issues that arise in high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters:

  • Identify key theoretical issues
  • Formulate appropriate empirical strategies
  • Guide research efforts
  • Perform sophisticated data analysis

We invest heavily in our associates’ professional development. All associates have peer mentors and experienced advisors who provide personalized career guidance. As an associate, you work on projects that support your career development. Our associates develop business acumen, consulting capabilities, team management, leadership, and relationship experience through ongoing learning programs, feedback, and mentoring by more experienced consultants.

Associate candidates are typically doctoral or MBA students nearing the completion of their degrees and with extensive training in economics, finance, or a related field, such as accounting or marketing. Candidates must have the ability to apply relevant analytical frameworks to real-world issues and present concise explanations of complex analyses. The ideal candidate has demonstrated strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills; CPAs, CFAs, and candidates with training in analytical finance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Summer/Visiting Associates

Summer/visiting associates are typically current doctoral or MBA students who join the firm for eight to twelve weeks prior to graduation. The summer/visiting associate role mirrors that of a new full-time associate and is designed to give current students a first-hand look into Cornerstone Research.

While many summer/visiting associates choose to join us during the summer, the timing and duration of this position are flexible and can be arranged at any time over the summer or during the academic year. Correspondingly, we accept and review applications for summer/visiting associate positions on a rolling basis.
