A lot of latitude to shape and develop custom approach to respond to the business problem submitted. This allows you to become even more comfortable with ambiguity. Make your case and you will receive the necessary support and trust.
DownersAt times, it could almost feel as too much latitude (i.e. avoid if you like being micromanaged or lack flexibility).
Advice to Potential InternsCome in with an open mind. Take advantage of the wide pool to network and do not hesitate to push through. I have also found top management particularly accessible.
Advice to Management-Keep making progress with diversity to help the company live up to its global company aspirations. This is for sure work in progress... but the MBA internship and rotation programs are definitely a step in the right direction, opening up many options for the future.
-The company offers many training sessions, both as online self-paced modules and live sessions. The quality of some of the e-learning modules could be improved.
-The third-party company used for internship payroll purposes added a layer of complexity, especially with respect to signing the hiring documentation (which required notarization). Their staff did not always seem to be on top of things and my manager also had to spend a lot of time dealing with them.
