Mentorship program did not match interns with people in their role/function, but rather in diverse roles. I understood the purpose but would have liked to indicate a preference.
Advice to Potential Interns
Culture fit is very important - research the culture before interview. Knowing about the company's business and mission, at least at a high level, even if you aren't technical, is relevant even if you are in a business or non-technical role. Relationships are important and help you get things done - establish these early and with intention.
