About Voice of America

Established in 1942, the Voice of America is a news organization funded by the U.S. Information Agency. Its goal is to provide insightful data for “Americans and foreigners through short-wave radio transmissions.” Voice of America programming is about 70 percent news and 30 percent reporting on topics related to economics, science, agriculture, medicine, sports and American history and culture.

Internships are offered in engineering, journalism, language, broadcasting, public affairs, special English, TV technical studio operations and TV to Africa.

Eligibility

Open to high school students, current college students, recent college graduates and grad students.
