About National Women's Health Network

Founded in 1975, the National Women’s Health Network (NWHN) is a nonprofit organization that strives to improve women’s health and influence health policies through critical analyses of women’s health issues. It employs six full-time staff members and a rotating group of interns. The organization analyzes and transmits health research information and monitors federal regulatory agencies, funding agencies, and the health industry.

NWHN interns work under the Women's Health Voice-Communications department but also gain experience working with other departments when projects arise. NWHN strives to give interns the experience of working at a nonprofit as a whole, including communications, program/policy work, and membership and individual giving. Intern responsibilities may include creating health education materials, attending Congressional briefings and Senatorial hearings, managing NWHN’s blogs and social media, researching and writing articles on women’s health issues, and assisting with NWHN’s fundraising efforts.


Open to undergraduates, recent graduates, graduate students, and career changers. Non-US citizens are welcome to apply.
