The Whitney seeks to be the defining museum of 20th and 21st century American art. The museum collects, exhibits, preserves, researches and interprets art of the United States in the broadest global, historical and interdisciplinary contexts. As the preeminent advocate for American art, the Whitney fosters the work of living artists at critical moments in their careers.
Interns are placed in various museum departments, including administration, curatorial, education, development, exhibitions and collections management, graphic design, library, marketing and communications, publications and registration. Intern responsibilities include research and special projects as well as routine administrative and clerical tasks.
Open to college sophomore, juniors, seniors and arts- related grad students and recent graduates.
