COINED International places students in internships throughout the Spanish-speaking world. The company allows students either to apply using their database or to customize an internship based on their academic and career goals for an extra fee. Established in 1971 to coordinate exchanges between German and Argentinean high school students, COINED now has Intercultural Centers in 32 cities in 13 Latin American countries, serving 4,000 students a year.
Interns are placed in a variety of different fields, including marketing, business, human resources, architecture, fashion design, law and medicine. Duties vary by host organization, but all interns attend a predeparture orientation, a city tour and monthly cultural meetings with other international interns once they reach their destination.
Open to recent graduates. Students must be conversational in Spanish to be eligible. COINED looks for students who are flexibile, responsible and sensitive towards other cultures, ways of life and conceptions of work.
