Altria Group is the parent company of a number of individual operating companies and subsidiaries that are leaders in responsibly providing adult tobacco and wine consumers with superior branded products. Internship and co-op assignments are designed to provide students (undergraduate, graduate or MBA) with practical work experience in their field of study. These opportunities allow students to increase their skills, develop a network of contacts, assess their strengths, work on meaningful assignments, and apply classroom concepts in a real world setting. The Altria internship is typically a 12-week program and opportunities are located across the country in over 20 states. Interns and co-ops are paid competitively, ranging from $18-$23 an hour. Benefits include a housing stipend, corporate housing, and a pay advance of $600.
To qualify for the intern and co-op summer programs, students must be enrolled as a rising junior or senior in good academic standing at the time of the internship. Specifically, we are looking for students working towards a degree in the field of study that is related to the internship such as, Engineering/Manufacturing, Business, Information Systems, Finance/Accounting, and Human Resources. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred. We are looking for students who plan time and resources efficiently and possess strong strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills. In addition to this, successful candidates must demonstrate leadership, initiative, and accountability, as well as exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must pass a drug-screen and background check prior to employment. Pay for an intern position is commensurate based on the student's academic level in school and experience. A housing allowance or corporate housing is available for students who qualify.
