Now in its 94th year of operation, Midwest-based Plante Moran is the 15th largest accounting firm in the U.S., as measured by revenues. It is headquartered in Southfield, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, and has been on a major growth streak in recent years. It has added several hundred staff members and several dozen partners, as well as merging with Chicago-based accounting firm Blackman Kallick in 2012. Today, Plante Moran employs approximately 2,200 people in 24 offices. It has domestic offices in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, and international offices in China, India, Mexico, and Tokyo. 

The firm serves clients in the following areas: audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management. Requirements

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college
  • Completed the first two entry-level accounting courses and at a minimum, currently enrolled in the first intermediate level accounting course (accounting students); there are other specific requirements for areas outside of accounting - inquire within
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting or master’s degree in accounting is required
  • Maintains strong academic success (minimum major GPA of 3.25)
  • Required credits and courses upon graduation to sit for the exam, as required for CPA licensing
  • Candidate is required to pursue the CPA license (accounting candidates)
