Navigant Consulting's Summer Associate program gives students an opportunity to experience what it is like to be a consultant at our firm.
Summer Associates are hired into specific practices and work on client-related work with the consultants within those practices. They may assist on a variety of project-related tasks including designing financial and accounting models; analyzing financial statements and other pertinent documentation; have responsibility for data compilation and analysis; aiding team in client report creation and presentation; and quality control of all deliverables. They are provided opportunities to work with and learn from more senior members of their practice.
Each summer associate is provided with a Peer Coach and Mentor who will also be there to guide them throughout their time with Navigant. Each intern has a mid-summer informal feedback session and a final formal performance review. The students can also participate in training/learning opportunities through lunches and webcasts along with social events that help them to build their networks at the firm.
The summer program runs approximately eight to ten weeks and interns are paid an hourly rate that is very competitive.
Depending on the practice, the ideal candidate will have completed at least three years of undergraduate studies in business or engineering and are majoring in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or other analytical course of study or pursuing a MBA with a concentration in Healthcare or Life Sciences. They should exhibit a solid academic performance in their course of study; have a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; and strong research and analytical skills. They should also demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. Additional qualifications include initiative, adaptability, creative problem solving skills, and an ability to work well with teams. They must demonstrate willingness to travel and work overtime when needed.
