A commitment to build a bridge from academia to the world of business and government led to the founding of Charles River Associates (CRA). In 1965, our founders envisioned a company that "would bring the developing technology of academia, especially in the then-burgeoning area of quantitative methods in economics, to the real world." Their vision continues to resonate strongly today, more than 50 years later. We may have outgrown our humble beginnings working from a hotel suite in Cambridge, Massachusetts, yet so much of who we are remains the same.
We are a leading global consulting firm that offers economic, financial, and strategic expertise to major law firms, corporations, accounting firms, and governments around the world.
With proven skills in complex cases and exceptional strength in analytics, CRA consultants have provided astute guidance to clients in thousands of successful engagements. We offer litigation and regulatory support, business strategy and planning, market and demand forecasting, policy analysis, and risk management consulting.
CRA Analyst Interns are quickly integrated into their practice and the local office culture alongside an accomplished mentor. Interns gain a wealth of experience working on live projects alongside top industry experts and academic faculty. Opportunities abound to develop a "ready for the real world" tool kit of new skills through regular trainings targeted to grow analytical and business skills. The environment and engagements provide summer staff with a broad knowledge of the consulting field and exposure to multiple industries and disciplines. The 2017 Case Study project was a cross-office, cross-practice case study where Interns put on their "Project Manager hat", collaborated on building a case plan and presented their findings to supporters across the firm.
A CRA internship offers the chance to grow your network and build your personal brand through office, practice, and Intern events. Additionally, Interns have the opportunity to interact across practice areas at a global level. After the internship, there is the potential to be considered for a full-time role, working with a team you already know.
We are looking for curious, analytical, highly-motivated undergraduates who are majoring in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, physical sciences, accounting, or another quantitative discipline. We value knowledge of economic and financial concepts, research experience, quantitative ability, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and a high level of initiative. We expect Analyst Interns to use data to solve client problems, work collaboratively with a team, effectively manage their time and prioritize tasks, and take pride and ownership in their work.
