You will be working with a team of engineers on a piece of technology already seeing rapid adoption by VMware product groups. Internal Audit Sr. Manager: As an Internal Audit Sr. Manager, you will be a part of a team delivering an innovative assurance and consulting approach that aligns with the fast paced, dynamic environment of VMware. You will have responsibility for assessing management’s testing of the design and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. In addition you will collaborate with your business partners to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of critical business processes and systems identified in our annual risk assessment and audit plan. Interns are expected to leverage internal audit and risk management skills to help raise awareness of financial and operational risks across these business areas. Interns will need to quickly respond to dynamic business models, applying critical thinking to identify and assess the impact of new risks.
Government Relations and Public Policy Intern: Interns will report directly to the Vice President of Global Government Relations and Public Policy and be an integral part of a team of federal and state lobbyists. Interns will research and provide analysis on policy issues surrounding technology, privacy, cloud infrastructure, and other issues relating to federal and state policy. During the internship, you will attend meetings and hearings on Capitol Hill, attend industry meetings, provide research, and support day-to-day initiatives and long-term strategies of VMware. Interns will also create newsletters, infographics, and other materials for internal and external audiences and monitor and track industry news and related legislative developments using a myriad information sources. The position is located in Washington, D.C., and Reston, Virginia. Interns must commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, full time.
Change Management Analyst: The intern will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training, change management, and adoption activities as assigned. Interns will work on internal projects and initiatives to create and deliver Change Management strategy and deliverables; maintain project plan for team deliverables; work to constantly improve offerings of Adoption, Change Management, and Training teams; become system and process experts in one of the supported applications; and build strong relationships with business and IT counterparts to drive user adoption and deliver effective business solutions.
MTS - Kernal Engineering: As a Member of Technical Staff – Kernel Engineering, an intern will be responsible for developing, testing and debugging VMware’s core Virtualization and Cloud Platform products. The right candidate will be responsible for ESXi operating system and core virtualization infrastructure. They will work with various kernel teams to design and deliver new functionality, mainly targeted for virtualization workloads. Distributed Systems Engineering Intern: As a Member of Technical Staff – Distributed Systems Engineering, an intern will be responsible for building and testing cutting edge distributed systems for performance, scalability and adaptability to today’s fast changing enterprise IT market. As a member of VMware’s Software Defined Data Center or Cloud Services organizations, they will directly contribute to the creation of the next generation of Storage, Networking, Virtualization and Cloud Platform products. They will accelerate the delivery and to improve the quality of well-architected system software solutions based on a fully integrated enterprise-class virtualization platform. Their responsibilities will include design, implementation, testing, and debugging of systems software.

Office of the CTO Intern: Applicants must be pursuing a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or some other relevant technical area. They must also possess Practical Object Oriented Design and development experience with one or more of the following languages: Java, C++, C#, GO, Python, Ruby; and have knowledge or be interested in distributed systems, multi-threaded and server-side programming. Applicants must also have a strong understanding of algorithms, systems architecture, data structures and file systems; and a strong desire to build industry leading software systems. While not mandatory, experience with Docker, Mesos or Kubernetes is a plus.
Internal Audit Sr. Manager: VMware is looking for a candidate with a BA and 10+ years of relevant experience or an MBA with 7+ years of relevant experience. A candidate with a CIA is preferred and a CPA is desirable. Applicants should have demonstrated experience successfully managing internal audit projects, conducting risk assessments, operational auditing and executing Internal Control audits. They must possess solid understanding, expertise and experience in PCAOB standards, SOX regulations, (SOX 404) and US GAAP; have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated software revenue recognition experience.The candidate must bring business experience and passion, an ability to learn new business models, demonstrated experience in ICFR testing and assessments, and a record of success in evaluating business operations.
