The PJT Partners Summer Analyst and Summer Associate Program is a 10-week program designed for undergraduates and MBAs who are highly motivated, team oriented and are interested in a finance career. Summer Interns are hired directly into one of our three world-class franchises: Strategic Advisory Group, Restructuring and Special Situations Group, and Park Hill Group.
As part of the program, Summer Analysts and Associates will be exposed to multi-industry deal activity and client transactions including: mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance advisory, private placements, restructurings, recapitalizations, fund placement, and secondary advisory.
Strategic Advisory Group
The Advisory group is one of the most experienced investment banking teams in the industry, and has been involved in some of the largest, most complex transactions of the past twenty years. Our global team focuses on a diverse set of industries, including technology, media, and telecommunication (TMT), energy, power & utilities, industrials, and healthcare.
Upon completion of training, Summer Interns will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of projects and be staffed on a number of deal teams and client assignments at once. Summer Interns can expect to work on a wide range of client-related transactions including: acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings, recapitalizations, private placements and leveraged buyouts. Summer Interns are expected to be actively involved with their deal teams during the structuring and financing of transactions, and regularly attend client and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.
Restructuring and Special Situations Group
The Restructuring and Special Situations Group advises large and middle market companies and creditor groups in financially distressed situations, both in bankruptcy court proceedings as well as in out-of-court restructuring and strategic advisory transactions. The group has been involved in the many of the largest and most high-profile reorganizations that have occurred in the last decade, including restructurings for Caesars, Delta Airlines, L.A. Dodgers, Energy Future Holdings, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Greece and Puerto Rico. In a restructuring transaction, a wide range of strategic advisory services are provided including advice on recapitalizations, reorganizations, exchange offers and distressed mergers and acquisitions, raising debt and equity capital and providing expert witness testimony on a range of topics including corporate valuations.
Upon completion of training, Summer Interns will have the opportunity to develop a diverse and broad corporate finance and financial restructuring skill set, working on deal teams where PJT represents companies, creditors, lenders, and other key parties to a financial restructuring process. Due to the relatively small size of the group, summer analysts and associates will be integral to all aspects of a deal. They will be directly involved with the development, structuring and financing of transactions and will regularly attend client and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.
