Named for the Greek word meaning “marketplace,” Agora is a holding company for publishers of financial, health, travel and special interest books and newsletters. The company is based out of Baltimore, Maryland within several 19th century mansions. Additional offices are located in Buenos Aires, Florida, Johannesburg, London, Melbourne, Mumbai, Paris, and Waterford. Deeming itself “a marketplace for ideas,” the company provides online resources, as well as conferences and seminars to promote idea sharing.
Agora hires interns into various roles, including communications, e-commerce, and human resources--to name a few. Examples of intern duties include copywriting, customer service assistance, editing, event planning, and working on marketing projects. The program also offers interns shadowing and training opportunities.
Open to undergraduate (sophomore year and above), graduate, MBA, and JD students. Recent graduates and mid-career applicants are also eligible.
