A dynamic eight-week program at a 51 year old privately held company located near the world-famous Country Club Plaza. Co-founded by Bob Bernstein (creator of the iconic Happy Meal) and now led by Bob's eldest son, Steve, Bernstein-Rein offers interns a vibrant experience in account management, creative, media, social marketing and related fields.Each intern benefits from working with his/her personal mentor as well as access to every associate in the agency - including Steve Bernstein and Bob Bernstein. The emphasis is on honing current skills, learning new skills and growing professionally and personally - in a relaxed, friendly environment. Interns are compensated at $10.00 per hour. There's no 'busy work.' Rather, interns have the opportunity to work on real client business, and also on an 'intern project' which they present to management at the internship's conclusion.
Internships are offered to students who have completed their junior year or have at least one semester remaining in their college program. This requirement was established so students could use their 'real world' internship experience when they return to their classroom. Also, at that stage of their education, students are likely to have committed to a career path related to advertising/marketing. Although, students enrolled in schools of journalism are, of course, encouraged to apply, other disciplines are as well: strategic communications; technology; fine arts; business, etc. Interns have the opportunity to develop not only professional hard skills, but soft skills as well, e.g. leadership, team building, presentation skills, etc. Of course, outstanding computer skills are mandatory. They will work both individually on client business under their mentor's supervision and as a group presentining a final intern class project to management.
