Calibre CPA Group’s IMPACT program provides an opportunity to spend the summer working side-by-side with our partners and senior staff in an environment devoted exclusively to the development of the intern. As an intern, you will work primarily in our Audit department. Throughout the internship there will also be multiple opportunities to engage with the staff on special projects and social events.
Calibre interns will work under the guidance of experienced professionals on multiple engagements including:
· Assist in the audit of selected financial statement accounts
· Document accounting systems and internal controls
· Prepare appropriate audit workpapers
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management letters.
You may also spend part of your Calibre internship in our Tax department where you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals assisting in the preparation of tax returns for individual, commercial and not-for-profit entities. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with rules and regulations related to tax planning and preparation.
Over the course of the summer, Calibre interns will participate in a number of social activities like bowling in Chinatown, attending a Nationals baseball game, the company picnic at the National Zoo and evening social hours with staff and fellow interns.
During the six-week IMPACT Program, Calibre interns get the chance to explore their potential outside of the classroom and take the lead on diverse, high-impact projects to gain new skills and build on existing talents. Calibre staff and leaders work with interns to create post-graduation possibilities. Interns engage by learning about the firm’s culture and clients, establishing commitment to transition into the professional workplace environment through a series of technical and leadership courses and participating in community service activities, panels and on-the-job learning experiences. Calibre CPA Group is known for giving its interns real responsibilities that a full-time employee would have. Students who work with Calibre get a jump start on their careers through the company’s on-the-job and professional development training which includes shadowing current employees, participating in meetings and more!
