Venture Capital Investor Relations Specialists

The U.S. Department of Labor does not provide an employment outlook for investor relations specialists, but it does report that job opportunities for marketing managers and public relations specialists who work in the catch-all category of “other financial investment activities” are expected to grow by 36 percent from 2014 to 2024. The National Venture Capital Association reports that the number of venture capital firms decreased from 985 firms in 2004 to 803 in 2014, which has fueled competition between firms to convince start-ups to accept their investment funds. Additionally, investors are requiring more information about funds, their performance, and other data, which is creating demand for IR specialists.
