Technology Ethicists

Outlook

The field of technology ethics is relatively new and still evolving. As more technology and artificial intelligence companies adopt codes of ethics and best practices, more opportunities will be created for technology ethicists. The Department of Labor forecasts much faster than average employment growth through 2029 for computer and information research scientists, an outlook that could also apply to technology ethicists. There is continual demand for new and improved technology and technological applications. More technology professionals will be needed to review and evaluate ideas for new products and services to ensure they are ethical, comply with laws and regulations, and align with companies' business standards. Technology ethicists with a bachelor's degree, several years of practical work experience, and certification will have the best job prospects.
