Earnings

Earnings and benefits in manufacturing companies vary widely based on the size of the company, geographic location, nature of the production process, and complexity of the robots. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) does not report on salaries specific to robotics engineers and technicians, but salary information can be garnered from other engineering disciplines. In general, electrical engineers earned a median starting salary of $95,230 in May 2015. The DOL reports the following salary ranges for engineers by specialty: computer hardware, $65,570 to $167,100; electrical, $59,240 to $146,820; electronics (except computer), $63,430 to $151,990; industrial, $53,300 to $126,920; and mechanical, $53,640 to $128,430.
