The earnings of salaried restaurant and food service managers vary a great deal, depending on the type and size of the establishment. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, median annual earnings of food service managers were $48,690 in May 2015. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $28,780, and the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $83,010. Those in charge of full-service restaurants earned about $51,000, while those who worked in traveler accommodation establishments earned $62,570 per year in 2015. In addition to a base salary, most managers receive bonuses based on profits, which can range from $2,000 to $7,500 a year.
