Public Relations Managers

Earnings

Public relations managers had median annual earnings of $104,140 in May 2015, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Salaries ranged from less than $56,890 to $187,200 or more annually. However, many factors may affect salary, such as the size and industry of a business, its location, and the overall size of the public relations department. The department reports the following mean salaries for public relations managers by type of employer: advertising, public relations, and related services, $153,710; professional, labor, political, and similar organizations, $115,330; colleges, universities, and professional schools, $112,330; and grantmaking and giving services, $109,760. Many firms offer benefits and compensation packages, including retirement plans, health and life insurance, or stock options that will further increase a manager's annual compensation.
