Oral surgeons are specialized dentists who perform intricate surgeries on the jaws, teeth, lips, gums, neck, and head. They are more precisely known as oral and maxillofacial surgeons. “Oral” refers to the mouth, and “maxillofacial” refers to the face and jaws.
