Certification or Licensing
Several marketing associations provide certification programs. For example, the American Marketing Association offers the professional certified marketer credential to applicants who pass a comprehensive online exam that covers core marketing concepts. To be eligible for certification, applicants must have either: 1) a bachelor’s degree and two years of professional marketing experience, or 2) a master’s degree and one year of professional marketing experience. Certification is valid for three years, but credential holders must complete 40 units of continuing education during this time period.
