Unions and Associations

Some mining engineers may be represented by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and other unions. The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society; National Mining Association; and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration are the main professional organizations for mining engineers. In addition, many other general engineering organizations provide useful resources, including the American Society for Engineering Education, National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers.
