Mining Engineers


The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) reports that median annual earnings of mining and geological engineers were $94,040 in May 2015. Salaries ranged from less than $54,180 to more than $180,600. The top-paying industry for mining and geological engineers was petroleum and gas products manufacturing, paying engineers median annual salaries of $132,660, according to the DOL. Engineers who worked in support activities for mining earned the next-highest salaries, $117,880 per year.
