Licensed Practical Nurses

Work Environment

Most LPNs work 40-hour weeks, less if part time. As with other health professionals, they may be asked to work during nights, weekends, or holidays to provide 24-hour care for their patients. Nurses are usually given pay differentials for these shifts. About 20 percent of LPNs work part time.
