Salaries for library technicians vary depending on such factors as the type of library, geographic location, and specific job responsibilities. According to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the median annual salary for all library technicians in May 2015 was $32,310. The lowest paid 10 percent made less than $19,420, while the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $51,620. The DOL also reported that library technicians employed by the federal government earned mean annual salaries of $49,370.
