Investment Banking Traders

Unions and Associations

Investment banking traders are not members of unions, but many professional associations provide useful resources. The International Association for Quantitative Finance offers membership for both college students and professionals, provides continuing education opportunities, and features job listings and resources for students at its Web site. The Algorithmic Trader’s Association offers certification and professional development opportunities. Other useful organizations include the CFA Institute, Futures Industry Association, Global Traders Association, Market Technicians Association, National Futures Association, New York Society of Security Analysts, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, and Security Traders Association. Some traders join state-level and local associations such as the Ohio Security Traders Association and Security Traders Association of Chicago.
