Investment Banking Associates

Unions and Associations

Investment banking associates do not belong to unions, but several professional associations provide useful resources. The International Association for Quantitative Finance offers membership for both college students and professionals, publishes the Journal of Derivatives, provides continuing education (CE) opportunities, and features job listings and resources for students at its Web site. The CFA Institute offers the chartered financial analyst credential; the Claritas Program, which covers the essentials of finance, ethics, and investment roles; membership (including with state-level affiliates). It also publishes Financial Analysts Journal and offers CE classes and webinars. Other useful organizations include the Association for Financial Professionals, Futures Industry Association, International Association of Investment Bankers, Market Technicians Association, National Futures Association, National Investment Banking Association, New York Society of Security Analysts, and Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
