Investment Bankers

Unions and Associations

Investment bankers are not members of unions, but several professional associations provide useful resources. The National Investment Banking Association hosts four conferences each year that provide networking and professional development opportunities and offers a Conference Internship Program for college students. The CFA Institute offers the chartered financial analyst credential; the Claritas Program, which covers the essentials of finance, ethics, and investment roles; membership (including with state-level affiliates); and continuing education classes and webinars. Other useful organizations include the Association for Financial Professionals, Futures Industry Association, International Association of Investment Bankers, International Association for Quantitative Finance, Market Technicians Association, National Futures Association, New York Society of Security Analysts, and Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
