Internet Quality Assurance Specialists

History

E-commerce has become part of almost every industry. The Internet boom began at the turn of the 21st century and has continued to steadily increase ever since. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that 7.8 percent of all U.S. retail sales were conducted through e-commerce as of 2016. Advertising, retail sales, distance education programs, banking, tax filing, Web conferencing, bill payment, and online auctions are just a few of the business outlets in which the Internet has played a significant role. Companies that have developed a Web presence need Internet quality assurance specialists to help plan, organize, and test Web sites before they are accessed by the end user. In the early days of Web development, developers often performed the quality assurance role. It quickly became apparent that this role should be separated and continual to ensure smooth Web site functioning.
