Overview

Internet executives plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the operations of businesses that engage in commerce over the Internet. These upper-level positions include presidents, chief operating officers, executive vice presidents, chief financial officers, chief information officers, and regional and district managers. They are responsible for ensuring that e-commerce sites are profitable and maintain high visibility and presence on the Web. The majority of Internet executives are employed by large companies in urban areas.
