U.S. News & World Report recently awarded the career of information assurance analyst high letter grades because it offered significant personal satisfaction (B) and work flexibility (B), as well as provided a benefit to society (B). Approximately 25 percent of information security analysts (a related career) worked more than 40 hours a week in 2014, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Information assurance analysts work in typical office settings, and have the use of the latest technology and office equipment. Those who work as consultants may need to travel to the offices of their clients.
