Hotel Desk Clerks

Employment of hotel desk clerks is expected to grow faster than the average for all careers through 2024 according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Increasing travel is fueling demand for hotel desk clerks, whose work cannot easily be automated. Jobs will be most plentiful with hotels located in busy urban areas, where there tend to be higher turnover rates. Opportunities will also be good at extended-stay and budget hotels. Hotel desk clerks at these facilities are generally responsible for a wider range of duties, such as business and concierge-related services.
