Horticultural Technicians

Because of the wide range of jobs available to technicians, average hourly wages vary. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, in May 2015 landscaping and groundskeeping workers earned an average of $12.03 an hour (approximately $25,030 annually for full-time work), with the lowest 10 percent earning $8.87 an hour (or $18,460 annually) and the highest 10 percent earning more than $19.00 an hour (or $39,520 annually). Fringe benefits vary from employer to employer, but generally include hospitalization and other insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and educational assistance. Self-employed workers, however, have to arrange for their own benefits.
