The Alternative Investment Management Association offers continuing education and other resources to its members (hedge fund managers, fund of hedge fund managers, prime brokers, fund administrators, independent fund directors, etc.). Its membership comprises more than 1,500 firms (with more than 9,000 individual contacts) in more than 50 countries. The Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, which has more than 5,000 members, offers continuing education, certification, networking opportunities, and other resources. The Regulatory Compliance Association provides membership, certification, and professional development opportunities. It has more than 78,000 members. The Association of Women in Alternative Investing and the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity are membership organizations that advocate to increase the number of women in the hedge fund and other alternative investment sectors. The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association—which represents the interests of securities firms, banks, and asset managers—has a Compliance and Legal Society for individual members.
