Food Writers and Editors


In May 2016, reported the average annual salary for food writers was $43,000, and for food editors it was $39,000. In May 2015, the median salary for writers, including food writers, was $60,250 a year, according to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $29,230, while the highest paid 10 percent earned $114,530 or more.
