Flight Instructors

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) predicts that employment of commercial pilots will grow about as fast as the average for all careers through 2024, with jobs being added in various industries, including support activities for air transportation. The Federal Aviation Administration has mandated new certification and qualification requirements for pilots in air carrier operations. These new regulations will require pilots to complete additional flight and classroom training, and this will create more opportunities for flight instructors. Demand will also grow for instructors in the U.S. and in emerging markets as a result of an expected pilot shortage in the coming years. Many pilots will reach the retirement age of 65 and replacements will be needed.
