Energy Consultants

Work Environment

A typical day for an energy consultant involves a combination of time in his or her home office and time visiting clients’ offices or field sites (such as wind farms, oil rigs, or coal mines). Consultants typically work long hours. Most consultants work more than 40 hours per week. If a project is close to its deadline, consultants sometimes work 14- to 16-hour days, and six- or seven-day workweeks are fairly common.
