Employment for digital advertising workers is expected to be good in the coming years. While the coronavirus pandemic has had a major, often negative, impact on many areas of the advertising industry in 2020, digital advertising spending has weathered the storm and is expected to continue growing through 2024, although with more modest predictions than those made in 2019. eMarketer.com predicts that total digital ad spending in the U.S. will have little growth in 2020 (from $132.46 billion in 2019 to $134.66 by year end 2020), but will reach $225.66 billion by 2024. Post pandemic, factors that will continue to influence growth include the increasing popularity of online video advertising, banner advertising, and advertising on social media sites such as Facebook and mobile devices.
